Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller Three Seat Sofa
SOLD
Ref#: 329
Charles Eames began this design in 1967, set it aside, and then returned to it in 1976. The Eames Sofa is the last piece of furniture produced by the Eames Office, which completed the design after Charles Eames died in 1978. It went into production in 1984 and has been manufactured by Herman Miller ever since. Charles and Ray Eames designed the sofa to complement their plush soft pad chairs and the sleek chaise. It stands as a graceful reminder of the honest genius of Charles and Ray Eames. This model is features a solid teak frame, polished aluminum, and black leather. This sofa likely dates to the mid- to late-1990s. It is in excellent condition with some minor scratches to the wood and metal and general wear to the leather. At some point this sofa's tag was removed but it has been authenticated by Herman Miller. New ES 108s in teak and leather retail for in excess of $8000.
